Peter Hopkirk was a British author and journalist who wrote narrative histories of Central Asia and the rivalries of empires across it.
Before turning to books he worked as a foreign correspondent and travelled widely through the regions he later wrote about. Setting the East Ablaze follows the attempt to carry revolution into Asia after 1917.
